Chris Rooke is currently the director of the Youth Theatre.

He has been involved with the group since its inception in 1990. He is an English and Drama teacher and until recently he was Advisory Teacher for Drama in Barnsley. As part of this work he has taught in every primary and secondary school in Barnsley (!)

Following the closure of PADS he now works at Carlton Community College teaching English and Drama. He also teaches A Level Drama and Theatre Studies at Penistone Grammar School.

He’s very happy that the Youth Theatre has developed such a good reputation for the quality of its productions and is really excited at all the changes taking place, in particular the move to Carlton school, and the talent of the students, which just gets better and better!

Claim to Fame: Chris once shared a house with none other than funny man Rowan Atkinson!

Lindsey is a freelance Artiste who teaches drama in schools and community settings in and around South Yorkshire.

Lindsey started performing at the age of 4 and has been hooked on performing ever since. She has appeared many times at The Lamproom Theatre and Doncaster Little Theatre. On leaving school she went to Barnsley College to follow a BTEC course in Performing Arts and then onto a BA (Hons) Degree in Performing Arts.

Lindsey became a volunteer with the Youth Theatre having worked with the group as part of the Worsbrough Mystyery Plays. She is now our much loved and respected Assistant Director and has directed many of our successful productions over the years.

 

Natalie has been a member of Barnsley Youth Theatre for many years, performing

in numerous productions as an actress, singer and dancer. More recently she has

become our choreographer, creating some amazing dance routines for the group.

She loves dancing and singing and passes her enthusiasm onto the children and

young people with her characteristic flair and professionalism.
